Supporting Children at an Orphanage

Improving Vietnam is honored to support a remarkable orphanage led by a devoted Father who cares for around 140 children. These children, whose parents have either passed away or abandoned them, rely entirely on his love, guidance, dedication, and donations.

The orphanage began with a single act of courage: the Father rescued a newborn baby girl whom villagers intended to bury alive alongside her mother, believing the child would bring misfortune. Despite not knowing how to care for her, he sought help, and over time he established a safe home for her and many other children in need. Today, children continue to be left at his doorstep, and he works tirelessly to provide for their basic needs — food, clothing, and education. Education lies at the heart of his mission, because he believes it is the key for these children to finally break free from the cycle of poverty. Yet each year, the cost of school uniforms and supplies adds a heavy burden to already limited resources. To sustain the orphanage, the Father sells livestock and seeks donations, yet the support required is greater than what he can provide alone.
